Child Poverty

Project is being implemented in Mahottari district which resides provenance no. 2 of Nepal. Mahottari is the one of the priority districts with very low HDI 0.388. Since February 2017, Community family welfare association (CFWA) a local NGO base in Mahottari district is implementing entitled project “Realizing the Rights of Children Through CSSP (PAHUNCH)” in total 26 wards of two municipality (Bardibas & Gaushala) of Mahottari district. Child marriage, engagement of children in harmful work, and violence against children in the form of physical and humiliating punishment, bullying, harassment in community and school settings, caste and gender-based discrimination and low access on social protection scheme are some of the prevalent child protection issues in this district.

The main goal of the project is to reduce child poverty in Nepal and main objective is to improve well-being of children in the PAHUNCH project area.

This report covers the activities made by project during 1st January to 30th June 2021. During this reporting period project team were focused on social protection eligible access, Child Sensitive Parenting Class (Follow up class and household visit) for post-assessment, Nutrition Support for malnutrition children, Growth monitoring Camping, Formation & Capacity building of ward level Grievance mechanism, Social Protection Policy Preparation, PIAC meeting/visit, CAC meeting and other more activities in project area.
